1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
This 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 was a difficult find. A lot of the Land Cruisers we came across on our search in Costa Rica were heavily modified, which would interfere with its eligibility to be imported to the U.S. But by word of mouth we came across this truck which sat unused for almost three decades.
It was matching numbers with only 20 thousand verified miles. Because of this we restored it to a factory spec. Sourcing the correct bench seat, rear folding jump seats, gauges, seat belts, and dash.
The exterior paint was still original so we polished back it’s shine. Repainting the roof and wheels to their factory color code. The mechanics had to be completely gone through but almost no parts had to be replaced.
This was our first Land Cruiser, being a long rival of the Defender we were skeptical. After seeing how quickly it came back to life and how reliable it won our favor.
